Áras an Uachtaráin
Scope of Work: Asbestos Boiler & Pipe Lagging Removal
Client: Office of Public Works
This project involved removing high risk asbestos materials from the boiler house at a very high profile location, to allow mechanical upgrade works to commence. The removal works involved carefully dismantling 3 large sectional boilers containing asbestos rope and all ancillary pipework / calorifiers, containing asbestos lagging. On completion the boiler room was wet blasted under controlled conditions to thoroughly environmentally clean the asbestos lagging splash residue on the walls. Independent background reassurance air monitoring and safe re-occupation asbestos clearance certification was carried out, to monitor our procedures and document that the works were kept within permitted exposure limits.
Harringtons have completed many similiar high profile public work contracts like Áras an Uachtaráin for the OPW and local government all across Ireland over the years, from Leinster House in Dublin, Garda HQ in the Phoenix Park and Glenveigh National Park in Donegal.
